How pantry-based recipe generation works
- Your pantry is the ingredient list. FreshFolio already knows what you have and when it expires, because it tracks your inventory.
- Pick what to use. Open Review Items to see every candidate ingredient with how soon it expires. Frozen items are badged. Tap Top for the highest-priority items, or pick them one by one.
- Set the mood. Choose meal type, cuisine, time, and servings for this one recipe.
- Generate. Tap the magic icon and FreshFolio's AI writes a recipe from those ingredients. Non-food items like cleaning supplies or pet food are kept out of recipes.
Set your household's rules once
In Recipe Preferences, set the things that are always true: allergens to avoid (such as peanuts, shellfish, or tree nuts), dietary tags (Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut-Free, Halal, Keto, or Paleo), default servings from 1 to 12, and a maximum cooking time. Every generated recipe follows them.
Cook what you've already saved
Not every night needs a new recipe. What Can I Cook? checks the recipes you've saved against what's in stock and sorts them into Ready to Cook, Almost There (add the missing items to your shopping list from the card), and Low Stock. It updates as you cook and restock. Save recipes from any website with your phone's Share button → Share to FreshFolio.

Yes. Review Items shows every candidate with how soon it expires. Use Select All, Top, or Clear All, or search by name. Selections apply to that one recipe only.

Yes. Allergens and dietary tags set in Recipe Preferences apply to every generation. AI can make mistakes, so check the final ingredient list yourself if you have severe allergies or strict dietary requirements.

What is What Can I Cook?
A live list of your saved recipes that you can make with what's in stock right now, sorted by how close each one is to fully stocked. It searches recipes you've saved. AI generation creates new ones.
