Third-Party Data Sources

OpenFoodFacts: Product data is sourced from the Open Food Facts database (openfoodfacts.org), made available by contributors under the Open Database License (ODbL v1.0) and Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 (CC-BY-SA 3.0).

UPCItemDB: Supplementary product data is retrieved from the UPCItemDB API (upcitemdb.com). UPCItemDB data is used under their standard API terms of service. No open-source license applies; this is a third-party data attribution.

BarcodeSpider: Supplementary product data is retrieved from the BarcodeSpider commercial API (barcodespider.com). BarcodeSpider data is used under their standard API terms of service. No open-source license applies; this is a commercial data attribution.

USDA FoodKeeper Data: Default shelf life values (pantry, refrigerator, and freezer storage timelines) are derived from the USDA FSIS FoodKeeper dataset (FMA-Data-v128.xlsx), published by the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service. As a work of the United States Federal Government, this data is in the public domain and is not subject to copyright protection under 17 U.S.C. § 105. Source: USDA FoodKeeper App.
